Armed and Dangerous… No Way… Friggin’ Deadly!
Way back when… I mean, waaaaay back when, as a fourteen year old lass, I was told by a true ‘evil-doer’, “If you had any brains, you’d be dangerous!” Well, here’s to you, you…. you… ya auooold bag (I can say she’s an old bag, ‘cuz I know she’s an old bag… ‘cuz when I was fourteen, so was she…)
Anyways, here I am. I now have ‘any brains’ and yer fer durned tootin’, I’m ‘dangerous’!
I am now equipped with enough materials, soon to be converted to knowledge or the aforementioned brains, to formally educate a nine year old boy from my very own home. As of today we are sufficiently armed with modules. Thanks to the folks at Rocky Mountain Continuing Education I have enough work, in the form of modules, for both of us to do for many, many weeks…
Well, it’s a beginning. It gives us a much needed focus, some guidance in my planning, in these, our first days and weeks homeschooling. It’s structured and follows, obviously, quite strictly, the BC fourth grade curriculum. To the letter. However, we as parents can take this or leave it, or take parts and leave others. This is nice.
While we really don’t know which methodology, or philosophy of homeschooling will work best for us, this gets us moving in the right direction. Forward. Not side to side. Not backwards. Not into complete debauchery. Although… Sally and I have enjoyed our mindless surfing of internet. It’s amazing what a kid (and his mother) can learn on this here worldwideweb…
For fun, we have begun an ongoing record of this new journey. Pluttification. Beasley is looking forward to making regular posts. He’s convinced there’s money to be made. Ummmmm….. yeah. Good luck with that, little man.
