WFMW- Hit Me Baby, One More Time!

Jan 30 2008

Published by Squirrel at 6:24 am under bloggity, blog, blog, de-lish!

Understand that in no way am I being compensated for this plug.  It’s just that since this past November, this perfectly, so very special, device has provided me with exactly what I be cravin’ at five a.m.  Within days of purchasing this little baby, I was completely taken and spewing it’s virtues on this here… forum for spewing.  And so, without further ado, please admire…..

West Bend 54149 12-Cup Automatic Coffee Percolator, Stainless Steel
…my life saver.  Truly the best coffee I can make myself.  Before this, in my life with a drip, I’d have maybe one cup.  But with this most retro, anti-modern oh so freakin’ fantastic gadget, I’m enjoying cup… after cup… after cup.  It’s strong. It’s hot, hot. Hot.  It’s a sweet, wonderfully intense warm hug from Viggo Mortensen a good, reliable friend in the early, bitter-freakin’-freezing morning.  That first hot, creamy (OK, a fair bit of half ‘n half) sip is heaven.
When I wake up sleepless from too much caffeine with inspiration in the night, I dream of my 5 a.m. jolt. With a cookie. Despite the resultant shakes, there is nothing.  I mean nothing.  Like it!  Sorry, Filipes….

A perculator? I wonder how it works? (I have learned the french press and drip)…I’m trying to find a way for my husband to make coffee. He wants a Senseo (the ones with the little pods) because he thinks he can’t measure properly….maybe something like this will work.

I’m glad you’ve found your perfect way to start the day! :)

Oh yeah, I LOVE my percolator! Another big bonus is that instead of going through those stupid glass carafes at the rate of one per month, until you break one and then find that they no longer make replacement carafes for your 6-month-old drip maker, that stainless steel baby is darn near bulletproof.

Cool! I use an aeropress for my coffee… also not your run of the mill way to make coffee! :)

I love the sound of a percolator. It is the sound I grew up hearing first thing in the morning. Maybe the sounds have changed with the new ones, but just hearing the name makes me think of the sound. Funny thing though — Not a chance I’d drink a cup of coffee - never liked it, not gonna start now lol Love the smell though :0)

    Have a Great Day!
    Kristin

Keep on going, and the chances are that you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it. I never heard of anyone ever stumbling on something sitting down. -Charles Kettering

Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them. -Orison Swett Marden

… when a man is capable of being in uncertainties, mysteries, doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reason. - John Keats

Think of yourself as on the threshold of unparalleled success. whole, clear, glorious life lies before you. Achieve! Achieve! - Andrew Carnegie

As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives. -Henry David Thoreau
